Documentary Film Series

Documentary Alliance has partnered with HoustonPBS to support its series of documentary screenings, Community Cinema. Community Cinema is a free monthly screening series of new films from the Emmy Award-winning PBS series Independent Lens presented at the Rice Media Center on the campus of Rice University.

Community Cinema is supported in more than 95 cities nationally, bringing together leading organizations, community members, and public television stations to learn, discuss, and get involved in key social issues of our time. In Houston, Documentary Alliance will support HoustonPBS through promotion and transportation of filmmakers to attend the screening and participate in panel discussions following the screening of their film.
